In 1998 Jesse Martin sailed on a yacht called the Lion Heart because he wanted to circumnavigate the whole world to prove to everyone that he can achieve his goal that he had dreamed since the age of 14.
When there was a storm the wind howled and waves crashed into the gunnels it was an horrible day for him. He went through very physical and mental challenges. At times he was also so lonely his mind was wandering, like when he said he would turn off the radio then he forgot so he turned on the radio over and over again. Every day he had to stay on his boat in the same place with a little room for 11 MONTHS!!!!

ReplyDeleteI bet that it was very hard for him to keep focusing on what he was doing. His parents were very supportive in keeping a eye when he was sailing around the world.
