Eggs Report

New zealanders eat 2 and a half million eggs a day and 920,000,000 are eaten per year. Most of the eggs that are composed are caged hens.

There are 4 ways that eggs are produced, barn eggs, caged eggs, free range eggs and organic eggs. The 3 different styles people eat eggs are poached, fried and scrambled. My favorite style is scrambled. The most eggs that are eaten the most are caged eggs.

Eggs are high in protein, they are easy for our bodies to digest. Eggs protein offers vitamins and minerals  Cooked egg protein are better than raw egg . Protein is mostly in the yolk of the egg because it has just about all the nutrients.

Caged hens live in an area with lack space to lay their eggs. Their cages are on an angle for the eggs to roll down and get collected by a conveyor belt. There are 6 hens per cage, unfortunately hens can’t exercise.

Free range and organic hens are not like caged hens, they eat grass and chicken feeds, have more space to  run around and can flap their wings.
